Is “Anti-racism” the new Racism?

The issue of Race is possibly the most contentious topic there is today.

Back in 1963, Dr Martin Luther King Jr, in his “I Have a Dream” speech, encouraged everyone to solely judge by the content of our fellow citizen’s character and not judge by skin colour.

But in the last 20 years, his principles seem to have been turned on their head. Many now regard “being colourblind” as a form of racism, or even a form of white supremacy. This ideology is promoted in academia, mainstream media and by social media. As a result, the racial divide seems to be widening again.

A whole academic discipline and an industry of racial grievance has grown in recent years. Academics like Ibram X Kendi and Robin D’Angelo promote the ideology of “Anti-Racism” which concludes that all white people are racist by default and that Western society is “systemically” racist.

In the UK recently, there was a furore when a black TV commentator stated that the Royal Family was “terribly white” when they were standing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, as if by default, that in of itself, was a negative thing.

If there really is a racial divide, how do we go about solving the problem? No one wants to be called “racist.” But to question this ideology can get you branded and cancelled.

Noted black economist and philosopher Thomas Sowell, has stated, “Racism is not dead, but it is on life support — kept alive by politicians, race hustlers and people who get a sense of superiority by denouncing others as “racists.” Is there an agenda behind this movement?
